The reactor was used to build the first atomic bombs back in 1945. Now Bill and Miranda go on the hunt to learn all they can about Dr. Novak and the Manhattan Project. Hey everyone. Courtesy of Hachette, I am giving away 5 copies of The Italian Lover by Robert Hellenga. An exhilarating novel of romance, art, and food in Florence, featuring the beloved Margot Harrington, who graced Robert Hellenga's The Sixteen Pleasures. Margot Harrington's memoir about her discovery in Florence of a priceless masterwork of Renaissance erotica - and the misguided love affair it inspired - is now, 25 years later, being made into a movie. Margot, with the help of her lover, Woody, writes a script that she thinks will validate her life. Of course their script is not used, but never mind - happy endings are the best endings for movies, as Margot eventually comes to see.At the former convent in Florence where "The Sixteen Pleasures" - now called "The Italian Lover," - is being filmed, Margot enters into a drama she never imagined, where her ideas of home, love, art, and aging collide with the imperatives of commerce and the unknowability of

Just chatting with author...David Snowdon

Yesterday, I shared my review on The Mind of a Genius . Well today I am happy to give you a little insight into how Mr. Snowden comes up with his ideas but first let me share with you a little about Mr. Snowden . About David Snowdon - British thriller writer, David Snowdon was born in London, and lives in London. He started writing in 1983, and wrote his first book, which hasn’t been published in 1984. His first published work, Too Young To die , was published in August 2006. And his second novel, The Mind of a Genius , was published in November 2007. Writing Regimen It all starts with an idea. When I get an idea for a book, I consider the idea. And if I think it’s a good idea, I write an outline, do some research and then I start writing. When I get an idea for a character, I determine its characteristics before I start writing about the character. When I’m working on a book, I don’t write every day, just a few days a week, and for a few hours. Most of the corrections are done afte

Malcolm Prince is a brilliant British scientist. His latest invention has caused quite a buzz from MI4 to The Denmark Intelligence group. Malcolm’s invention involves a formula, so great that it will change the world. Now some of the elite agencies in the world will race around the globe from London, Copenhagen, Hong Kong and Australia to gain possession of Malcolm’s formula. It won’t be easy as each group is only one step behind each other. I did not have to worry about The Mind of a Genius not being interesting as there was enough action and adventure to satisfy my taste. Though I did enjoy all the different agencies that were thrown in the mix; I didn’t care for the power trips the MI4, CIA and The Denmark Intelligence had with each other. I do have to hand it to Mr. Snowdon on this novel. The storyline consisted of many twists and turns that I never knew what to expect next. It wasn’t till the end that I discovered the true nature of Malcolm Prince’s formula and its use. When I d

I received this book from LibraryThing's Early Reviewer program. It does not release till March 24, 09. There hasn’t been much information known about Etta Place, the girlfriend of Harry “The Sundance Kid” Longbaugh. So when author, Gerald Kolpan , first heard about this, he became very intrigued and began to research all he could about Etta Place. Mr. Kolpan’s first novel, Etta is a fictional story of just who Kolpan imagined Etta Place might have been and where she came from. Lorinda Reese Jameson was born to a banker and his wife. When she was just eighteen years old, her father took his own life. Lorinda left the streets of Philadelphia. She arrived in Grand Junction, Colorado, where she started her job as a Harvey girl as well as her new life as Etta Place. She was a waitress, working in the hotel; serving passengers as they made their way along the train. Soon Etta finds herself a wanted woman and one of the first to make a brief stay in the Grand Junction jail. It is not

Robin of Locksley has gained notoriety throughout the centuries as a skillful art thief and powerful Darkyn vampire lord. For the past seven hundred years, it seems the authorities have not been able to apprehend Robin. Another quality Robin has going for him, besides being an art thief is the ability to steal women’s hearts with just one look. You could call Robin a bit of a Casanova. FBI agent Chris Renshaw has gone undercover to seek out an art thief. She plans to use a priceless artifact called the Maiden’s Book of Hours. In order for Chris to succeed; she will have to team up with Robin to bring down her target. The more time Robin and Chris spend in each other’s company, the strong their attraction to one another gets. Stay the Night is book seven in the Darkyn series. In my opinion you do not have to read the rest of the books first. Though Robin was supposed to be a heartthrob, he did nothing for me. I did not feel like I wanted him and so this made it hard for me to get into

It was like I could feel the heat from the blasts of the cocktails being thrown as well as the dust and dirt. What I liked

I want to thank Bethany with Cadence Marketing Group for sending me a copy of this book to review. Battles between Somebodies and Nobodies: Combat Abuse of Rank at Work and at Home by Julie Ann Wambach, Ph.D . is one of those types of books that everyone should read. Julie Ann talks about how somebodies and nobodies are created, which than leads to rankism. Rankism is described as the misuse of position by those in power when they mistreat individuals who are less forceful. Where you will most likely engage in rankism is at any type of organization, where a group of people are involved. This is not to say there is anything wrong with that, as even animals establish some form of rankism. What Julie Ann explains in Battles between Somebodies and Nobodies is how to best approach rank and what steps you can take for yourself. What I enjoyed the most about this book was that it was easy to read and understand. The chapters were broken out into short ones with identifiable titles. The best

I am pleased to introduce you all to a new author. Her name is Margay Roberge. Writing has always been a passion of mine from the very first time I picked up a pencil. Telling stories has always been in my blood; there have always been great tellers of tales in my family, whether it was my grandmother passing on a family store or distant relatives publishing their own. Yes, my claim to fame is being related to the Lowells of Boston - James Russell Lowell, Amy Lowell and Robert Lowell. So I’m not kidding when I say that writing is in my blood. Though I started out writing just for me, somewhere along the way I came to realize that others might be interested in what I have to write. It started with family and friends, then teachers, but still, it took some time to convince myself to pursue publication. It has been quite a journey, culminating in the publication of my first book, Nora’s Soul. Here’s to continuing the journey. I want to thank you for letting me interview you. Thank you fo
