Immortalis Carpe Noctem

Las Vegas is a city of chance. You roll the dice and hope that lady luck is on your side. Unfortunately for twenty-five year old Alyssa, she ended up with a bust. Alyssa gets attacked and is on the brink of death when she meets Lysander.

Lysander is a vampire. He gives Alyssa a second chance at a new life. At first Alyssa does not appreciate that Lysander has turned her. Though with Lysander’s teachings, Alyssa learns what it takes to be a vampire. She is ready to take on Sin City.

Immortalis: Carpe Noctem is a breath of fresh air. It is a nice take on vampires. Ms. Salidas incorporates her love for vampires into this book. It shows. I like how this book described in detail everything that Alyssa experienced as a newly made vampire from the thirst for blood and the smell of it…to the changes Alyssa went through. Talk about having a major crush on the teacher. Lysander is good looking for a dead guy. I liked seeing Alyssa progress from naïve to a creature of the night. I sank my teeth into this book and drank it all in. Katie Salidas will have you craving more. I am anxiety awaiting Immortalis: Hunters and Prey, book two as I enjoyed Immortalis: Carpe Noctem a lot.

Katie Salidas Bio:

The youngest of four children, Katie has always had a desire to entertain. Since, early childhood, she's dreamed up fantastical characters and scribbled them into pages of various journals and notebooks. Taking an interest in vampires at an early age, she devoured every book, featuring those blood sucking creatures, in any genre she could find. She claims that, of all the monsters out there, vampires had always been the most interesting.

It was only natural that a love of reading about vampires, and a love of writing, turned into a desire to write her own stories. Thus, Immortalis Carpe Noctem was born.

A Las Vegas native, having grown up in the famed City of Sin, Katie loves to feature it as a recurring setting for many of her stories.
