LOVE. LOSS. AND SECOND CHANCES.

Nina’s once-sweet life has unexpectedly turned sour. Her marriage is over, her job is in jeopardy, and her teenage daughter is slipping away from her. Well, that and the attention of a younger man, but Oliver’s on-again-off-again romantic interest in her ebbs and flows so much she is seasick. And then Jack, her ex-husband, shows up, wanting to get back together.

As Nina struggles to find a way through her complicated relationships and to uncover her true path, she discovers just how valuable a second chance at life and happiness can be.


My Review


I thought this book would focus a lot of Nina's lemonade project. Which I was looking forward to getting to know more about food stylists. They are the ones that create the stunning Instagram worthy photos that make everyone want to eat, drink, or recreate the items in the photos. Yet, it seems that I got more facts about Nina and her life than about her project. Not that I would be complaining if I had been able to relate more with Nina. I found that I actually had trouble relating to all of the characters in this book.

I agree with other readers that the story as well as the characters were depressing. They did complain a lot. This was a turn off. It was kind of a struggle to get through this book. While, there was romance because of the story being a downer, it did not feel upbeat. You could say that this book was not my cup of lemonade.
